Winter is just around the corner and with the biting winds and freezing temperatures, your skin just might be in need of a little exfoliation and a whole lotta hydration. Body scrub to the rescue!
Spa treatments and body scrubs can be expensive but with this incredibly simple "do it yourself" recipe, you can get spa quality without paying exorbitant prices.
Using basic ingredients found at most grocery stores, you can create your own delicious body scrub concoction that's good enough to eat.... Actually you could eat this although I'm not sure why you would. :)
The How To
1 cup organic sugar
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil (other oils, such as grapeseed or jojoba, can be substituted)
1 teabag organic chamomile tea (dry)
4 drops of essential oil (I use lavender from Whole Foods and patchouli from Merriweather's in Rhinebeck, NY)
Empty contents of teabag into bowl; mix with sugar, olive oil, and essential oil. You could get totally crazy and add a bit of coffee or ground oatmeal to your scrub as well. Spoon the mixture into super cute jars like the ones I purchased from Fillmore Container.
Dress the jars of scrub up with some ribbon and you have yourself some really easy bridal shower favors, bridesmaid gifts, or stocking stuffers. Spoiler alert: I'm going to make a whole bunch for my girlfriends for the holidays!
