Welcome and thanks for stopping by! Here's a little bit about the brains and brawn behind Hudson Valley Green.

By day, I am an environmental scientist for a consulting firm based in the greater NYC area. By night, I am an aspiring wedding consultant.  I am a new transplant to the Hudson Valley after having been raised on Long Island and I love living amongst the greenery in the Valley.

I am constantly researching varying aspects of event planning to find the most environmentally friendly options. Finding truly "green" products or vendors takes a critical and informed eye. My academic and professional background makes me a great candidate for scoping out the real deal. You can read more about how this blog came to be and my own background here at this post. 

"Going green" doesn't have to be an "all or nothing" proposition. For my wedding, I reused my grandmother's wedding dress, opted for house plants instead of huge, elaborate, pesticide-laden flowers, and went with edible wedding favors (so they wouldn't end up in a landfill after the wedding). Making small changes can make a big difference...so feel free to peruse my blog and use the information that suits you best.
