One of my new favorite podcasts, Call Your Girlfriend (CYG), recently interviewed Michelle Markowitz and Caroline Moss about trials and tribulations of being a bridesmaid. Michelle and Caroline's new book, aptly titled Hey Ladies!, documents the planning of various wedding events through the fictitious emails of eight women.
The underlying theme of the book is the cringe-worthy requests that brides and bridesmaids make of each other. As a bride, planning a wedding is exciting but rife with stress as various expectations are either met or dismissed. Being a bridesmaid is an honor but can be a major burden on time and finances. Understanding both perspectives would likely save many friendships.
