Reading for the Week...

Hey there! Since it appears that I am having trouble posting my weekend blog posts on time, I've decided to switch it up this week....so here is the post with some fun wedding links from around the web as a "reading for the week" sort of post. Enjoy!

Love this dress for a fun, non-traditional take on a wedding dress. And as a wedding dress, at a pretty good price point!

A literal wedding cheese cake. So fun but oh so delicious and different. Instead of having your caterer slice up boring cake, have them create a beautiful dessert cheese board for each table. Pair the cheeses with accoutrements like marcona almonds and fig jam...your guests will really have something to talk about after the wedding. Love this idea!

For a barn wedding less than 1.5 hours from NYC, check out Mount Gulian. Secluded location, beautiful historic site, and lots of hotels nearby. Can't beat it.

The internet is chock-full of marriage advice, much of it cliche "...don't go to bed angry!". But I do believe being on the same page about financial matters before tying the knot is one of the most important things you can do for your future marriage. If you haven't had the money talk, do it now.

And on a more serious note....

Instead of a traditional wedding favor, how about giving a donation to the International Rescue Committee? Send a girl to school for a year for $58. Or help give a mother a safe birthing experience for $24. As a mother of twin girls, these efforts resonate with me. I can't imagine what it would be like to be an expectant mother in a war-torn country or not have access to education as a child. Together, through donations, maybe we can make the world a bit brighter for these women and girls.

Happy Planning,
Lizzie
