What Matters....

Last weekend my brother was involved in a very serious motorcycle accident in Arizona and spent seven days in the Neuro ICU. My mother and I were able to fly out immediately to be with him. After a week of overwhelming worry and sadness, my brother has been discharged from the ICU and is expected to make a full recovery.

When life-shattering events occur in one's life, it puts a different spin on things. After I returned from Arizona, I hugged my husband a little tighter and gave my puppy a few more kisses.  Seeing my brother on life support has made me realize that I should never take advantage of the people who love and care for me. Because when the proverbial shit hits the fan, you need your family and friends first.

If you are in the midst of wedding planning and trying to pick out the perfect color bridesmaid dress is becoming overwhelming, just take a step back and know that the color or style of dresses (or invitations or napkins or shoes) doesn't matter. What does matter is that you are surrounded by people who only want the best for you and your future partner-in-crime. So don't take advantage of them - make it easy for those bridesmaids, groomsmen, family, and family-in-law. And when the big day arrives, make sure to take another step back and realize how many people care for you....that's what truly matters.

Happy Planning,
Lizzie
